New Designs Inspired by American Heritage and North Carolina Traditions
At House of Morgan Pewter, many of our designs begin with conversations, memories, and moments that remind us why handcrafted work still matters.
Two of our newest designs — our Cotton Ornament and USA 250th Anniversary Ornament — were both inspired by pride in American traditions, craftsmanship, and the stories that connect us to where we come from.
Inspired by North Carolina Agriculture
Our Cotton Design began after a local North Carolina farmer brought me fresh cotton from her field. As we talked about farming, family history, and the role cotton has played across North Carolina for generations, I knew I wanted to create a design inspired by it.
I spent time studying the natural bends of the stem and the softness of the opened cotton boll, working to capture both the strength and beauty of the plant in pewter. To me, the design became more than just cotton — it became a reflection of North Carolina agriculture, hard work, and tradition.
Celebrating 250 Years of America
As we approached the 250th Anniversary of America, Matt and I wanted to create something meaningful to celebrate the spirit and history of our country.
The American eagle and flag became the center of the design because they have long represented freedom, courage, strength, sacrifice, and unity. We also wanted the piece to reflect something deeply personal to us — pride in American craftsmanship and the importance of preserving traditions that are passed down through generations.
As a family business hand casting pewter in North Carolina since 1980, these themes felt especially meaningful to us.

Every House of Morgan Pewter design is still designed and hand cast in our North Carolina workshop using traditional pewter casting methods.
